The goal of this project was to design a ‘personal food carrier’ using the process of researching, conceptualizing and refining. The design were to be low-tech (avoid built-in electronics or complex mechanisms) and must consider manufacturing limitations and opportunities. The food carrier design will consider architecture, usability, aesthetics, and materials. The user I chose to design for is Avery, a full time college student.
User Profile
Avery is a full time college student. She likes buying second-hand, cares about sustainability, organization, and vintage. She packs her lunch so she can eat outside and to save time. She uses reusable bags and containers but sometimes has to carry her food by hand to prevent spills. She also carries a water bottle and something to hold her coffee in. She cares about the environment and buying second hand and enjoys fun colors and a vintage aesthetic. In her lunch she carries soup, salads, or a sandwich and brings snacks too.
